About

Joey Davila is a professional musician, educator, and award-winning composer dedicated to performance, recording, and music production. As a passionate advocate for music education, he teaches classical guitar at a High School in Corpus Christi, TX, where his students consistently earn top ratings at UIL competitions.

In 2025, Joseph was selected from hundreds of applicants as one of six composers commissioned by the New Canon Project to write an original string orchestra piece. The work premiered at the American String Teachers Association Conference in Atlanta, GA, where he collaborated with musicians from around the world, consulted with the conductor (Dr. Kira Omelnchenko), and shared his composition process. The piece (La Luna LLena) was published in May 2025.

He was also commissioned by Dr. Alice Lindsay of the Philadelphia International Music Festival to compose a new work (A Pukwudgie Tale for Viola quartet), further establishing his presence in the contemporary classical music scene. Additionally, Joseph placed 2nd in the Music International Grand Prix Adult Composition category held in New York City in April ’25.

Beyond composition and education, Joseph has an extensive background in guitar and music production. He has produced nine albums for the international Tippi Toes Dance Company, with multiple releases charting on Billboard and iTunes. His work has been featured in commercials, conference videos, and children’s dance programs, bringing engaging and high-quality music to a broad audience.
